The Sanctuary serves as a refuge for wildlife, and a learning and research center. Students gain first-hand knowledge of the natural environment. We host school tours and workshops and guided tours for scout groups, senior groups, and other organizations.

To attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators by planting specific flowers and foliage to meet their needs
To guide and nurture the curiosity of young people to understand and appreciate the importance of nature and the environment

To teach conservation and the many ways we can all protect the environment
To monitor and research the birds and wildlife on an ongoing basis
